England's Euro semi-final referee has history with Bellingham

German ref Felix Zwayer has been delegated to administer the Euro 2024 semi-last among England and the Netherlands in Dortmund, and is an authority which Jude Bellingham has recently conflicted with in a similar arena. In 2021, when Bellingham was at Borussia Dortmund, the England midfielder got a fine of 40,000 euros for remarks he made with respect to Zwayer following his side's 3-2 loss by Bayern Munich. Dortmund had allures for a punishment waved away before Bundesliga pioneers Bayern scored from the spot to take every one of the three focuses against their closest opponents, and Bellingham was incensed when he talked a while later. "You can check out at a ton of the choices in the game. You give an official, that has match-fixed previously, the greatest game in Germany. What do you expect?" Bellingham said at that point. His remarks referred to a period in Zwayer's profession which he would have liked to put behind him. In 2005, ref Robert Hoyzer was condemned to two years and five months in jail for his job in a huge match-fixing embarrassment which shook German football, and in spite of the fact that Zwayer was one of the people who detailed his doubts, he also was rebuffed. Zwayer was allowed a six-month boycott by the German Football Organization (DFB) for tolerating 300 euros from Hoyzer for consenting to go with inaccurate choices during a game while he was an associate official. He enjoyed some time off after Bellingham's remarks, however from that point forward has refereed the 2023 Countries Association last and at Euro 2024 Zwayer has assumed responsibility for three games before the semi-last. UEFA declined to remark when reached by Reuters about Zwayer's arrangement for Wednesday's match.
