Rishad stars with 3/31 on PSL debut

In a thrilling PSL clash on Sunday, Lahore Qalandars secured a commanding 79-run victory over Quetta Gladiators, with standout performances from their players. After being sidelined in the season opener against Islamabad United, young Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad made a significant impact in his debut match, replacing Namibian all-rounder David Wiese. The 22-year-old bowler showcased his talent by taking 3 wickets for 31 runs in his four overs, including the key dismissals of Quetta’s top scorer Rilee Rossouw (44) and fast bowler Mohammad Amir. Rishad's efforts were instrumental in restricting Quetta to just 140 runs while chasing a target of 220, as they were bowled out in only 16.2 overs. Lahore captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, along with Asif Afridi and Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza, also contributed to the team's bowling success, each claiming two wickets. Earlier in the match, Lahore Qalandars batted first and set a formidable total of 219 runs for the loss of six wickets. Player of the Match Fakhar Zaman led the charge with a brilliant 67 runs, supported by English wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings, who finished unbeaten on 50. Rishad, batting at No. 8, remained not out with a run-a-ball contribution, further solidifying Lahore's strong performance. In another development, Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das was expected to play for Karachi Kings but had to withdraw from the tournament due to a finger injury.
